Anonymous AI for Teaching and Learning (Winter 2025)
Winter 2025 (Anonymous)
As I complete the final course in the Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Learning Program, I reflect with gratitude and enthusiasm on an experience that has far exceeded my expectations. With a master’s degree in Learning Design and Technology and as a current doctoral candidate in the Global Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)program at the Swiss School of Business Management, I approached this program with a clear research focus and high hopes. What I gained was not only technical knowledge, but also actionable tools that advanced the methodology of my dissertation.
These four courses built upon a strong academic foundation I had previously developed through the Ivey Academy’s AI Leadership program and the Harvard/EdX Data Science Professional Certificate. While those provided a robust theoretical framework, it was Â鶹ÊÓƵ that delivered the “how”—the practical implementation of Artificial Intelligence in real-world learning environments.
Two courses in particular—AI-Based Learning Technology and AI and Writing, both taught by Joycelyn Kelly—proved transformative. These courses guided me through the design and deployment of Analytical, Explainable, and Predictive AI applications, offering me a way forward in a research journey where the “will” was present, but the “way” remained elusive.
The hands-on capstone projects became turning points. I created two suites of educational chatbots and developed my own web scraping engine to investigate the AI-readiness of the world’s Top 10 AI universities. I will adapt the same model to benchmark Ontario’s 24 public community colleges using my custom-built G-PLANET-X framework. The work integrates natural language processing, data science techniques, Lean Six Sigma metrics, and Agile Extreme Programming—all grounded in academic integrity and designed for transparency and scalability.
The project not only fulfilled academic requirements but also demonstrated the practical value of AI in higher education governance and instructional innovation. This program has been instrumental in making my research vision a reality. It did not just teach me about AI in teaching and learning—it empowered me to become a creator and contributor to this evolving field.

-
AI-based Learning Technologies
This course introduces different AI-based learning technologies that are currently used in corporate training, such as chatbots, virtual assistants and gamification. It also examines the benefits and limitations of these technologies and explores the ways in which more general AI could be used to perform these functions.
I just wanted to say thank you for the AI-based Learning Technologies course. As an elementary teacher looking to transition out of the classroom, I found the course super insightful and helpful. Your enthusiasm and knowledge really stood out, and I appreciate how engaging and accessible you made the content. I can't wait to explore more about AI in education.

Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Learning (2025) -
Ethical and Social Issues in the use of AI in Teaching and Learning
This course would have learners explore the ethical and social implications of using AI in support of teaching and learning. It will include such topics as data privacy, biases in algorithms, AI "hallucinations", the effects of manipulating input to the AI, and the possibility of negative social and economic impacts of AI use.
-
AI and Writing
This module considers the ways in which AI can support the writing process through each of the following four stages: generating ideas/content, organizing the ideas/content, composing the document, and revising the document. Participants will also learn how to use AI to explore writing for different audiences and purposes.
-
AI and Simulation Learning
In simulation-based learning (SBL), Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs are often used to generate and control simulation environments. For example, AI may be used to develop learning environments tailored to the background information or past performance of learners. In this course, students will explore the relationships among AI, simulation fidelity, cost effectiveness and skills transfer effectiveness in SBL.
